Skijoring at the World Champs 2019

March 2018 and I made a little video of my dogs and me skiing around my street in the snow. The video went viral and lots of people said how I should race on snow and become the first British person to skijor. Well buoyed by those messages I set myself a goal – to compete at the World Snow Championships in France in January 2019.

ROAD TRIPPING WITH THE G MAN

Firstly lets just take the time to reflect on how big Germany is….it’s massive and driving from one side to the other seems to take forever on the longest , straightest motorway in history. Luckily I had Gareth to regale me with his never ending views on Brexit, a word to the wise do not even mention the ‘B’ word to G, you will live to regret it!

What is the BSSF

What is the BSSF

What is the BSSF?

The British Sleddog Sports Federation is the governing body for these activities within the UK. It was set up several years ago essentially to deal with entries for those wanting to race abroad internationally. If you wanted to race for Team GB at a sanctioned International Championship then BSSF will have to select you and deal with your entry. It also brings together Nordic and Open breeds as well as all other organisations under one federation. Historically SDAS (Sleddog Association of Scotland) held the position within IFSS, but handed this over as a good will gesture to help the new federation on its’ way.
